A war has been raging between Russia and Ukraine since 2014. After Russia annexed Crimea, the fighting began. As a result of the Russian invasion and annexation of the Crimean Peninsula in February and March 2014, the Russians invaded Ukraine in February and March 2022 and invaded across a broad front. In the wake of the Revolution of Dignity, this event took place in the broader conflict between Russia and Ukraine. There were many false or illogical arguments made by President Putin. According to him, he wanted to prevent bullying and genocide among Ukrainians and aimed for demilitarization and de-Nazification of the country. In Ukraine, there has been no genocide: the country is a vibrant democracy, with a Jewish president. In 2021, the realism aspect, when considered in the context of Russia’s constructed realist identity, explains directly Russia’s motivations in relation to Ukraine. Great powers such as Russia, which identifies itself with constructivism, sought to expand their power over rival states with the aim of becoming regional hegemons. As a consequence, states take advantage of their inherent offensive capabilities in order toboost their chances of survival in the anarchic, self-help international system. (Respond)
