Learning Goal: I’m working on a accounting discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
The Association of Government Accountants developed the concept of citizen-centric reporting for the average user. The following link leads you to information about it.
https://www.agacgfm.org/Resources/Performance-Accountability/CCR.aspx (Links to an external site.)
On that page it describes what citizen-centric reporting is and provides links to the following items you should access:
- How to Construct a CCR (Briefly describes what the 4 pages should contain.)
- View of Completed CCRs
- Undergraduate Government Finance Case Competition that leads to a winning CCR example
Requirements:
Choose a CCR and critique its effectiveness in providing relevant information about governmental accountability, financial condition, and performance. You may use other CCRs but not every entity prepares one (for example, the City of Sacramento does not.)
- Write a minimum of two full single-spaced pages discussing the following topics.
- What is governments’ accountability defined in GASB Concept Statement 1?
- Does the CCR report provide relevant information that enables their various constituents to evaluate the overall performance and financial conditions?
- Unlike corporations, there is no universal performance measure for governments. What do you believe primary performance measure(s) would (should) be reported in the CCR? Also, discuss your rationale for your choice.
- Conclude your discussions about the effectiveness of the CCR information in terms of fulfilling governmental accountability.
- On top of your term paper, include your full name and ID#.
- Submit your work by uploading your file in Microsoft Word or pdf. Do not use the file extension of .pages. These files are not readable in Canvas.
- Your work should be authentic, which means you should not copy the work of someone else. In addition to the two main discussion pages, create another page called “References”. On this page, cite any references or someone else’s work you used in your paper using APA or MLA citation format. Please refer to the Sac State policy for plagiarism. https://www.csus.edu/umanual/student/stu-100.htm
