Hello class,
Before we can figure out the principles of workforce engagement and motivation we need to know what workforce engagement is. Workforce engagement “refers to the extent of workforce commitment, both emotional and intellectual, to accomplishing the work, mission and vision of the organization” (Evans & Lindsay, 2020). Some principles behind workforce engagement are allowing your team to do well. Managers can get in the way of their own organizations success by not allowing the full potential of processes. Letting your workforce put their effort and will power into the organization will create an emotional bond with the organization. Employees is what make an organization succeed, thus is why “employees are motivated through exciting work, responsibility, and recognition” (2020). Setting the culture of an organization is key to letting employees feel welcomed and keeps the drive alive in them to do well. An employee that knows his work matters will outwork an employee that feels belittled. Having great and motivated frontline managers will implement positive culture throughout your organization.
